For the uninitiated Mardi Gras is Fat Tuesday, the day before Lent begins (Ash Wednesday). It began as a feast day to enjoy all the things one was going to give as a Lenten sacrifice.
It is now a weeks long party celebrated in the Southern most areas of Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. These areas have parades, parties ranging from tailgate at the parade variety to grand formal balls, and official school and bank and government holidays.

New Year
Recessionista Christmas 2008This year we disregarded the usual formal portrait appointment,
